[b]Baked Apple with Cheese Sauce Recipe[/b] Bake the whole apple and pour cheese sauce over the top, like snow over a mountain.:blink: [b]Ingredients[/b] * 4 Apples * 4 tablespoon sugar * 1 teaspoon powdered cinnamon * 2 tablespoons butter * 1/2 cup hot water * 1/2 tablespoon butter * 150g Mascarpone cheese (fresh cheese in Itlay - known as Tiramisu) * 4 tablespoons milk [b]Cooking Method[/b] 1. Core apple. Do not remove bottom. The apple is still as a whole with a hole in the middle. 2. Prick apples with a wooden toothpick. 3. Combine sugar and cinnamon. 4. Pour the cinnamon sugar into hollow cores and placed butter on top. 5. Pour hot water and butter over apples. 6. Bake at 180 degree Celusis for 20-30 minutes. 7. Cool slightly and chill in refrigerate. 8. Stir in Mascarpone cheese in a bowl until soft. Gradually add milk. 9. Put chilled apples on dish. 10. Serve with generous dollops of cheese sauce. Have you try to give fruits to your kid but he refused to eat? Fruits are important for children\'s growth. Many people actually prepared these for their children and they loved it! Try it and let me know!!!:D.[b]Ingredients[/b] * 4 bananas, peeled * 2 apples, peeled, cored and cut into rings (1 cm thick) * 1/2 pineapple, peeled, cored and cut into rings (can pineapple is also acceptable) (Choose whatever fruits you want to) :idea: * 50g flour * 1/8 teaspoon salt * 1/2 egg, beaten * 100ml water * Oil for frying * 1 tablespoon caster sugar [b]Cooking Method[/b] 1. Mix the flour and salt together in a mixing bowl. 2. Make a well in the centre of the flour. 3. Pour the egg and water gradually, stirring in the flour from the edge to wards centre. 4. Beat well to make a smooth batter. 5. Dip the fruit into batter. 6. Fry in hot oil until golden brown on both sides. 7. Drain on kitchen paper. 8. Dust the fritters with caster sugar and serve hot!!!:P

Today is the day when all chinese will eat reuion dinner wilh their loved ones. Therefore many people will rush home, squeeze into the trains but you can still able see smiles on their face. Steamboat is commonly used in the reunion dinner as it is the easiest way to prepare. Many people will gather round the table and exchange their current situations while digging in the delicious food such as chicken, fish, pork, fish ball. Then at night, you can see some people sending off their "old" fortune god and receiving their "new" fortune god for the coming year. They believed fortune god will give them blessing and money in the coming year. Here I wish all people "Have a propsperous New Year!!!":lol:

This recipe for those who loved red beans. By the way, for this recipe, it is wise to use red beans produced in Taiwan as it gives a strong, fragrant flavour as compared to those produced in China. [b]Ingredients[/b] * 300 whipping cream * 200g milk * 60g granulated sugar * 8 pieces gelatine, * 15g red beans [b]Cooking Methods[/b] 1. Heat whipping cream and milk in pan until boiling. 2. Then add sugar and mix until dissolved. 3. Add well-soaked gelatine pieces (pls see previous article on it) and stir until evenly mixed. 4. Remove and cool completely 5. Place some red beans in a mould and pour the mixture into the mould. 6. Chill for about 1 hr. 7. Ready to serve. :P

[b]Ingredients [/b] * 4 egg yolks * 75g caster sugar * 1 teaspoon cornflour * 300ml semi-skimmed milk * 40g butter * 75g fresh breadcrumbs * 50g light brown sugar * 5ml natural vanilla essence * 300ml double cream [b]Cooking Method [/b] 1. Whisk the egg yolks, honey and cornflour in a bowl until thick and foamy. 2. Pour the milk into a heavy-based saucepan, bring to the boil. 3. Gradually pour on to the yolk mixture, whisking constantly. 4. Return the mixture to the pan. 5. Cook over gentle heat, stirring all the time until custard thickens and is smooth. 6. Pour it back into bowl, then chill. 7. Melt the butter in a large frying pan. 8. Add breadcrumbs, stir until evenly coated in butter. 9. Then sprinkle the sugar over. 10.Fry gently for 4-5 minutes, stirring until lightly browned. (Do not overcook the breadcrumb as it will give bitter taste to the ice cream. The crumbs should darken slightly.) 11. Remove from heat. 12. Leave until cool and crisp. [b]To be continued below...2 methods to choose from : By Hand or Ice cream Maker[/b] [b]Use Hand Instead of Ice Cream Maker[/b] 13. Stir in the vanilla essence to the custard. 14. Mix well. 15. Whip the cream until thick then fold into the custard. 16. Pour into a plastic tub. 17. Freeze for 4 hrs, beating once with fork, break up the ice crystals. 18. Break up the breadcrumbs with your fingers. 19. Beat the ice cream briefly. 20. Then stir in the breadcrumbs. 21. Return the tub to the freezer. 22. Leave until firm enough to scoop. 23. Ready to serve. [b]Use Ice Cream Maker[/b] 13. Stir in the vanilla essence into custard mix and mix well. 14. Stir in the cream. 15. Transfer to the ice cream maker. 16. Churn for 25 minutes until thick and firm enough to scoop. 17. Rub the between your fingers to break up any lumps. 18. Stir the breadcrumbs into the mixture. 19. Churn for 5-10 minutes until ready. 20. Scrape the ice cream into a tub. 21. Freeze for 2 -3 hrs until firm. 22. Ready to serve. I try it and loved it! :wub: pss...I make my very own ice cream and my kids even ask for more....:D

Want quicky and tasty? Try this. [b]Ingredient[/b] * 100g Dried Noodles * 7 Black Mushrooms * 8 cups Mushrooms,canned * 50g Chinese Chives Seasonings * 1 tablespoons Oyster Sauce * 2 teaspoons Dark Soya Sauce * 1/2 tablespoons Cooking oil * Sesame Oil to taste [b]Cooking Method[/b] 1. Soak the dried noodles in 800ml water in a casserole. 2. Cover and cook on microwave HIGH for 6 minutes or until the noodles became soften. 3. Drain well and reserve for later use. 4. Soak the black mushrooms in water until soften, then cut into strips 5. Marinate lightly with oil and salt, then cover and cook on microwave HIGH for 2 minutes. 6. Cut the cup mushrooms into slices. 7. Cut the chinese chives into strips 8. Mix all the cooked ingredients and seasonings. 9. Cover and cook on microwave HIGH for 3 to 4 minutes. 10. Serve hot. Gelatin is an animal product that acts as a thickening agent. Remember this is not suitable for Vegetarians. It is extracted from animal bones and is pure protein. It is often used in desserts and mousses. Actually there are two kinds of gelatine - Gelatine pieces or Gelatine powder. But how to use it? [b]Gelatine Powder [/b] - Soak gelatine powder 4 or 5 times the proportion of cold water until softened. - Heat in a double-boiler along with the soaking water until well dissolved. - Ready to use. Peel, core and slice thinly. 2. Rinse, peel, seed and slice the papaya. 3. Rinse the raspberries. Wipe dry. 4. Put in all except honey into the blender and mix well. Blend until smooth. 5. [b]Can I lose weight by not eating any rice?[/b] Actually, meat and other dishes contain a lot fat. Whereas, a bowl of rice contain just 240 calories. Therefore, eating dishes and not rice not necessarily help lose weight. [b]Does skipping breakfast help weight loss? [/b] :no: Absolutely not. Breakfast provides the first input of energy for consumption during the day. So it is important you should eat more in terms in quanitiy and variety. Peel sweet potatoes and cut into thin slices 1 cm thick 2. Cut the strips 1 cm wide and slice diagonally to form diamond shape. 3. Rinse sweet potato pieces. 4. A colourful dessert recipe to start your new year? :rolleyes: Try it! Hope you will loves it! [b][u]KUIH LOMPANG [/b][/u] [b]Ingredients[/b] * 105g rice flour, mixed with 75ml water, kneaded to get wet flour * 30g sago flour * 120g sugar and 250 ml, boiled until dissolved, cooled * 1/8 tsp rose essence or pandan essence * dash of red, green and yellow colouring * 1/2 grated coconut (white only) and 1/2 tsp salt, mixed and steamed for 20 mins. [b]Cooking Method[/b] 1. Mix wet rice flour, sago flour in a mixing bowl. 2. Slowly pour in syrup and mix well. 3. Add essence and strain. 4. Divide the batter into 4 equal parts; add red, green, yellow colouring into 3 different parts and keep the reminaing part white in colour. 5. Steam small cups until hot, pout in the batter until 3/4 full. 6. Steam with high heat for about 10 mins until cooked. 7. Remove and leave to cool before removing from the cups. 8. For some people whose metabolism cannot handle acids properly, as a result may not oxidize the acids in the food. Thus, simple food may acidify the body and result in poor health. [b]ACID FOOD[/b] The primary acid food are fruits, whey and vinegar. - Whey, yogurt, curds, kefir, small-curd cottage cheese - Unripe fruit {the less ripe a fruit, the higher the acid content} - Berries,citrus fruit, plums, apricots - Sweet fruits (if eaten in excess) , melon, watermelon *Cooking fruits does not diminsh their acidity. :no: In many cases, it will increase the acidity instead. - Acid veg: tomato, rhubarb, sorrel, watercress - Fruit juice, lemon juice - Honey (moderately acid) - Vinegar But then what is alkalizing food? :look: Well , till next time.......another health tips

Acid-alkaline diet focus on how to balance your body in having two of the substances in your body. In fact, the diet aims at making sure the body have a balanced quantities of alkaline subatnces and acids. An imbalance of them can result in health problems, ranging from skin irritations, chronic fatigue, back pain and even depression to arthrities, ulcers and osteoporosis. Many of us actually consume large quantities of processed food that acidify the body and therefore, health problems occurred. :'( Personally I am trying out the diet and currently noticed I get more joint pains and cramps if my body is acidic. I tend to feel better if my body is at "neutral level" (ph 7 or 7.5) [b]How to detect the acidic level of the body[/b] You can use litmus paper to test your urine to test the acidic level of your body. Measurement must be taken at different times of the day and a log book record your measurement must be taken. pH can vary at different times of the day because of the activity, meals physical effort, stress and so forth. To be truly respresentative , the measurements must be taken several times a day for four to five days in succession. Pineapple can aid in digestion and help to keep the skin clean. Then enzyme bromelain, which can be extracted from pineapples, has been shown to be effective in treating blood clots that may lead to thrombosis.But people who have the history of stomach ulcers should not take pineapples as pineapples have a high acid content.:rolleyes: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ [b]Ingredients[/b] * 100g sugar * 500ml water * 20g gelatine powder * 2 tablespoon lemon juice * 1 tin pineapple ring [b]Cooking Methods[/b] 1. Bring sugar, water and gelatine powder to a boil in a saucepan till sugar and gelatine have dissolved. 2. Lower the heat and bring to boil for another 5 mins. 3. Add lemon juice and bring to a boil. 4. Remove from heat and our into a moulds. 5. Put in pineapple rings and leave aside to cool. 6. Put the moulds into fridge. 7. Ready to serve.

[b]Sugar cane & Soy Bean Milk Pudding [/b] This is a recipe that help you to "cool" down your system and it is delicious too! [b]Ingredients:[/b] * 100ml water * 1 1/2 tablespoon agar-agar powder ( agar-agar powder is made of seaweed) * 80g sugar * 600g pure sugar cane juice * 300g pure soy bean milk [b]Cooking Method :[/b] 1. Cook water, agar-agar powder and sugar in a saucepan till dissolved. 2. Pour in sugar cane juice and soy bean milk and mix well. 3. Make sure the liquid in the saucepan boil. 4. Remove from heat, stirring constantly till almost cold. 5. Pour into pudding mould and chill in fridge till set.

[b][u] Tuna Salad with Lemon Dressing [/u][/b] [b]Ingredients[/b] * 1 tablespoon olive oil * 1 medium onion, thinly sliced * 1 clove garlic, crushed * 250g cherry tomatoes * 300g can chickenpeas, rinsed and drained * 500g French beans, peeled * 100g rocket leaves * 2 tablespoons fresh dill sprigs * 425g can tuna, drained, and flaked [b] Lemon Dill Dressing [/b] * 1 level tablespoon chopped fresh dill * 2 tablespoons olive oil * 2 1/2 tablespoons lemon oil 1 teaspoon fine sugar [b] Cooking Methods [/b] 1. Heat oil in pan, add onion,cook,stirring until soft. 2. Add garlic, tomatoes, chickpeas & beans. Stir until hot. 3. Place mixture in a bowl with rocket leaves and dill. Toss gently. 4. Divide portion among plates, top with tuna and dressing. 5. Serve immediately.

[b][u] Tapioca Layered Cake (Kuih Talam Ubi)[/b][/u] There are 2 layers in the cake. [b]Ingredients for bottom layer[/b] * 200g palm sugar, roughly chopped * 200ml water * 800g tapioca tubers [b]Ingredients for top layer[/b] * 400ml coconut milk * 3/4 teaspoon salt * 80g plain flour * 1 tablespoon rice flour [b]Cooking Methods [/b] [b]Bottom Layer [/b] 1. Place the palm sugar in a saucepan with the water. 2. Cook over gentle heat until sugar dissolves 3. Strain and leave to cool. 4. Skin tapioca by making a shallow cut alongside and peel away the skin 5. Finely grate the tapioca. 6. Press the grated tapioca in a sieve,collecting juice in a small bowl. 7. Pour off and discard the liquid on top, thus leaving behind the tapioca starch. 8. 600g of grated tapioca and a little tapioca starch should be obtained from the above process. 9. Mix grated tapicoa, tapioca starch and cooled sugar syrup in a bowl. 10. Transfer this mixture into a shallow cake tin approximately 18cm across and steam over rapidly boiling water for 20 mins. [b]Top Layer [/b] 1. Combine all the ingredients and stir well until it is free from lumps. 2. Strain through a fine sieve. [b]Combine [/b] 1. When the tapioca layer is cooked, carefully blot off any excess moisture from the surface by pressing a paper napkin on it. 2. Pour the coconut layer over the tapioca layer and steam the cake for another 20 mins until the top is set. 3. Remove the tapioca cake from the steamer and cool thoroughly before cutting into 3 cm squares or diamond shapes. 4. Ready to serve. Try this ! I loved this ! :w00t:
